Fruit Popsicles

Summer has finally arrived in the Netherlands (having said this, I hope it will stay that way ;-)) and nothing is better than a refreshing popsicle on a hot Summer day! These Fruit Popsicles are packed with fruit and are easy to make. Ok, they may have to go into the freezer for a few hours, but otherwise you can put them together according to your own taste. Plus, you can also put your kids to work and let them assemble their own Fruit Popsicles. You can also use frozen fruits, freshly squeezed juice, or sugar-free lemonade. Enjoy!

Surinamese Style Canned Sardines on Toast

Surinamese people love their canned sardines in oil or in tomato sauce by Morjon or Brunswick. We eat the sardines in tomato sauce over rice and sauté it first with some onion, garlic, Madame Jeanette pepper and a Maggie cube. It’s straight up comfortfood. And the sardines in oil we prefer them as a “choka” (mash) with raw onions, a bit of garlic powder, Madame Jeanette pepper, lemon juice, a little bit of the oil and salt / a Maggie cube. Today, I’ll share the “choka” version and serve it on some buttered sourdough toast. Prepare for some canned goodness!
